Sewing Tutorial: Quilted Passport Clutch (for Bernina)

A couple of months ago, I was in the mood to sew something random and quick. I have a couple of really big projects going on right now (quilts!) but I wanted to sit at my machine for an hour or two and whip up something handmade. I was browsing one of my friend's sewing blogs, See Kate Sew, (an absolute must-read, she is amazing), and saw that I was just in time to join her clutch-along, (where you join other seamstresses and sew the same pattern and share your pictures). I sewed a mini version of Kate's clutch, and shared it on Instagram and Flickr. It was my first time participating in a Sew-Along, and it was great fun!
Today, I am sharing the tutorial for my mini clutch, adapted from Kate's pattern. There are a few differences... the first being that its "mini." I scaled down the pattern to be small enough to carry 5 passports. (I made this clutch just in time to take on our Disney Cruise back in May). I also added top-stitching, a different closure, and I quilted the whole thing.
For my fabrics, I used Riley Blake's gray dots from the Verona collection.
I lined it with my favorite Eiffel Tower fabric that I bought at a shop in Salt Lake City last fall when I attended the Sewing Summit. (I also made an infinity scarf with it).

If you want to make this clutch, definitely visit Kate's pattern for the bigger size. Or if you're looking for the mini size, I'm sharing the instructions over on Bernina's We All Sew blog today. (It's my first time guest blogging for them, and I'm so excited)!!
