Toasted and Sugared Almonds

My mother-in-law is a wonderful cook. She makes an amazing vegetable salad with a citrus dressing and sugared almonds, and it is my favorite. Lately I've been on a nut kick- like trail mix and roasted almonds- for a delicious and healthy snack. I've also been snacking on the sugared almonds that are meant to top the salad. They are just so good (much better than potato chips)!

How to Make Toasted Sugared Almonds
1 6 oz bag sliced almonds
1/3 cup white sugar

1.You'll need a frying pan and spoon. Easy enough!

2. Melt the sugar on medium low. It takes a good 5 minutes. Constabtly stir to avoid burning.

3. Once the sugar has begun to melt, you can slowly add the almonds. Stir about 2 minutes, constantly, coating the almonds with the sugar.

4. When the almonds are ready, spreak them on foil to cool. Break the clumps with a spoon.

5. When they are cool, you can store them in an air-tight bag, or a jar.... that is, if you have any leftover!

*I love these screw on lids that I found on Amazon, to fit on my mason jars!

  1. Great minds think alike Rach! I just made some, too! Haha. I love those lids, very cool! I have to check them out! XO, Aimee

  2. Oh how yummy! This would be really tasty on top of a ramen cabbage salad I bet :)
I wanted to take a moment to invite you to submit this and any other yummy recipes to my link party, Recipe Sharing Monday. Hope to see you there!

  3. This I like!! I can almost taste them!

Thanks for your comment. Have a great day!
