This is one of my favorite ways to serve fruit over the summer. It is so light and refreshing! It contains lime juice, which will keep your fruit from turning brown, and a surprise ingredient, which gives this dish a little zing! I learned this recipe from my cooking class at BYU, but I like to use olive oil instead of vegetable oil, as the original recipe called for.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup lime juice (fresh is best)
2 TB sugar
2 TSP poppy seeds
dash of Tabasco (surprise)!
your favorite fruits (washed, drained, and sliced)
I used- blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, mango, mandarin oranges, grapes, and apples
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a tightly covered jar. Shake well. Pour over prepared fruit.
The ingredients for the dressing sound weird, but trust me, it's so good!!!
If I turn my back for even a second, our family's little taste tester will show up in no time.
She's sporting a little dress that used to be mine!

Tabasco? I'm sold. Can't wait to give this one a try!
Hmm...I know the hubby would like this!
Sounds so great!
This looks like a very refreshing recipe and so perfect for summer since we have access to so many fruits at this time. I'm hosting a Grill, BBQ, and Picnic party on the week of June 17 and would love to have you come add this post so others can make it for their summer gatherings.
Thanks for the recipe, I'll have to keep this one!
What a good recipe name! And cute girl on the picnic bench! I pinned it.
This looks so good, can't wait to try it! Tabasco is my hubby's favorite so I'm sure he'll love it! Thanks for sharing!!
I'm intrigued. I'll have to try it out this summer!
Sounds yummy--and I love the bowl!
How interesting! I bet it tastes awesome :) thanks for sharing on CSI project!
Gorgeous!
Interesting. I put lime in my fruit salad (which totally fascinates my taste tester), but I've never thought of Tabasco.
Sounds like an interesting salad recipe to try!
Looks delicious! It sounds like a Mexican fruit salad I've had--melons and berries with lime juice and powdered pico de gallo. Yum!
