Operation Smile

You have probably heard about Operation Smile. I received an opportunity to write a blog post about them. I receive a lot of offers to write sponsored posts, and have turned them all down, because, like I've mentioned, I intend to blog about things that really really matter to me. That is what keeps my blog genuine to who I am and what I believe. This is the first sponsored post I've ever accepted, (meaning that I received money in exchange for blogging about my thoughts and experience with Operation Smile), and here's why.

I believe in Operation Smile (click here to learn more). They are an international children's medical charity. They are organized. They are non-profit. They save and improve lives. They make a difference.

Can you imagine if you, or your child, or a loved one were born with a cleft lip or cleft palate? You would likely seek the best doctors to have it fixed. Operation Smile sends volunteer doctors on mission trips to countries where help is needed. Often, children born with a cleft are unable to eat, speak, socialize, or smile. I believe in the power of volunteers joining together to make a difference. The reason I felt compelled to share the message of Operation Smile is because my husband is currently training in this line of work, and plans to one day volunteer.

I thought this was really neat... you can click here to see the schedule and countries for Operation Smile mission trips in 2012.

If you or someone you know is in the market for textbooks, be sure to check out www.campusbookrentals.com. They donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented.
