Have a LOVEly day!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope your day is filled with love.
I've always loved this day.
It was on Valentine's Day when Troy and I first said "I Love You."
And he gave me a pair of sweet snowboarding pants.
I kind of missed the boat this year on decorations.
But we've been talking a lot about Love.
Loving others, serving others, loving ourselves.
Sometimes I think its the lessons our kids learn that sticks with them more than the decorations and frills.

I started reminiscing last night, and looked back at all my pictures from past Valentine's.
Like this one from 2005.
It's a picture of ZZTop Troy and his Dad playing some tunes for a church Valentines function.

One of my most memorable Valentine's was in 2006.
I was in the hospital the whole day, awaiting the birth of our first baby.
She was born just after midnight. I was so happy that she wouldn't have to share her birthday with Valentine's Day for the rest of her life!

2007 was special too. I made a quilt for a dear friend who is loved by all. It was signed by all the children at our church.

2008 we had just welcomed baby #2 into our family. I took them to a little party with my neighbors. My little sister and my sister in law provided the cute outfits.

In 2009 I had the biggest surprise. Breakfast in bed, followed by...
a barbershop quartet serenading me!
My husband hired them. He's so creative, and quite the romantic :)
(The funny thing was that one of the men is a lawyer who I used to work for during high school).

My best memory from 2010 was making Valentine's with my babies.

Last year, 2011 we had a little valentine exchange at our house.

Sorry for the trip down memory lane.
There is just something special about this day. It doesn't have to be over the top.
But something little, something special, the memory will stick around for years.
Something to tell your loved ones that you.....
love them.

This year our kids woke up to their names spelled with candy and a little cross-stitch kit,
and some homemade hairbows.

I'm making a special dinner tonight when T-roy gets home.
The little stinker surprised me with a serger. I can hardly believe it, eeek I'm so excited!

I hope that you have a lovely day.
If you don't have anyone to celebrate with, I hope that someday you will.
