Sew Along Part 3: Pottery Barn Advent Knock Off

Hi! Welcome to Part 3 of my Sew Along!
So today, I have everything all planned and layed out, and all my decorations cut out. I just haven't sewn any of them yet (yikes)!! So, if you can use your imagination, here's what I've got so far, and next week for sure, they will be all embroidered! Some of the squares are missing decorations (such as eyes on the snowman), which I will be hand sewing.

My plan for all the squares changed just a little bit from last week as I came up with a few ideas during the week (the skis and ugly sweater). There are a couple other advents that I've found on Pinterest, and I've gleaned some ideas from them. This one is really great, and I used a few of her ideas.

Before we get on with it, I have a teeny favor to ask. Of course I can't make anyone, but if anyone out there is following along, I would love to hear from you in a comment! It makes it way more exciting for me to know who/if anyone is following my tutorial. If you are, I would be absolutely delighted if you took a second to "follow" my blog. Thanks!!!
So here's what I've got so far.

And here is a close up of each square so you can see the details that went into each one.

These should all look a lot better once I've finished them. If anyone has questions on how I cut these out, I'd be happy to give you further details. Basically, you just imagine it and start cutting!

  1. Love what you've done so far-- I am totally following along! I love that you are doing this exact one-- it ALMOST feels like I'm back in Ohio and we are doing it together! I am to the same point you are-- but I am at a loss as to how to attach the pockets--- are you sewing them on?

  7. I'm totally following along! I love it, I have to admit I'm afraid to start because it seems a little overwhelming for me.... Did you just free hand cut everything?
